how often should you change your wiper blades?
Each set of blades are different , but a general rule of thumb is that all wiper blades should be changed every 6 months to a year, or as soon as you see a change in visibility while driving. Some signs that it may be time to change your blades are; squeaking, chattering, smearing, streaking, and skipping. Make checking your wiper blades regularly a part of your preventative maintenance program and do not wait until it is too late!
What to look for when checking your blades
- Cracks, tears or missing pieces from the squeegee
- Make sure the rubber of the squeegee is still flexible and not stiff or cracking
- Check for breaks or cracks on the frame arm, joints and connection points
- Rust or metal corrosion
- Check that the squeegee is securely attached to the wiper arm
